Dear Families
As we move through an unusually hot spell, we want to thank you for your continued support and understanding. These conditions present a real challenge for schools — balancing the need to keep children cool, comfortable and safe while also maintaining routines and learning. It can sometimes feel like a no-win situation but we are doing everything we can to support families and prioritise the wellbeing of every child. Your cooperation with sun protection, appropriate clothing and hydration has made a real difference and we are very grateful.
We would also like to take a moment to praise our wonderful children. Their manners, resilience and positive attitudes have shone through this week. They have taken the changes and the heat very much in their stride, showing kindness to one another and continuing to make us proud each day.
Looking ahead, we are excited for transition week next week. The children are already talking enthusiastically about meeting their new class teachers and spending time in their new classrooms. It is always a special time, filled with anticipation and excitement and we look forward to supporting them through this important step.
Thank you again for your ongoing support; it truly makes a difference.
Warm regards
Kerry Exon

Staffing Updates
At the end of this term, we will be saying a fond farewell to Mrs David, our Year 2 teacher. She has been a valued member of our school community for eleven years and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication, care and commitment to the children in her class. We wish her all the very best for the future.
We would also like to thank Mrs More-Speight for the positive impact she has had on our school community. As she leaves at the end of term, we wish her all the very best for the future and every happiness in her next chapter.
We are also pleased to share some new appointments for September, as we welcome two new teaching assistants to the team: Rebecca Turner and Phoebe Dedman. We are delighted they will be joining us and look forward to the positive contributions they will bring to our school.
Uniform
As the weather is forecast to be cooler next week, we will be returning to our usual school uniform from Monday.
Please ensure that children come to school wearing their full school uniform, including appropriate school footwear.
INSET DAY
A reminder that school will be closed on Friday 3rd July due to a staff INSET day.
Therefore, there will be no pupils in school on this day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 6th July as normal.
Year 3 Parental Engagement
It was wonderful to see so many parents at our recent Parental Engagement session. During the session, parents had the opportunity to take part in the daily activities used in class to develop the children’s times tables knowledge. It was clear to see how much the children valued having their parents there and enjoyed sharing this special time with them.
Cross Country
Well done to all of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils who took part in the recent cross-country event. They all performed brilliantly and should be very proud of their efforts - it was a fantastic afternoon!
A huge thank you also to all the parents and guardians for their support and encouragement.
Tempest Photographs
Have you ordered your class photo yet? A polite reminder that the closing date for free delivery back to school is Thursday 2nd July 2026. Order through the Tempest website using the unique link that has already been emailed out.
If you need any assistance in ordering your photos, feel free to contact Tempest on 01736 751555 (option 5).
Parking
We kindly ask for your support in helping to keep our school community safe by parking considerately both on the school site and on the surrounding roads.
Please remember to:
Park legally and avoid double parking or stopping on zig-zag lines.
Respect residents’ driveways and access points.
Avoid blocking pavements, crossings or junctions.
Be mindful of pedestrians when arriving and leaving.
Your cooperation helps ensure the safety of all pupils and maintains positive relationships with our neighbours.
