Dear Families
Over the last two weeks, I have reflected on how I continue to feel incredibly proud of our children, who impress me each and every day. They consistently show such warmth and kindness, looking after one another and truly living out our school values of kindness, enthusiasm, respect, curiosity, determination and confidence.
It has been especially lovely to hear that our visitors have commented on this during their time in school this week, noticing the positive relationships and caring attitudes that make our community so special. I also saw these qualities shining through on our recent residential at Escot, where the children supported, encouraged and celebrated each other every step of the way.
These moments are so important in developing character, helping our pupils grow into thoughtful, resilient and compassionate individuals. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an amazing school and I am sure you feel just as proud of our children as we do!
Have a lovely weekend!

Welcome Back Mrs Hendra
We would like to warmly welcome back Mrs Hendra, who has rejoined our school team. She will be working alongside the Year 6 staff and supporting the children in their learning.
We are delighted to have her back and know the pupils will benefit greatly from her experience and support.
Staffing Structure 2026-2027
As we approach the end of the academic year, we wanted to let you know that we are currently giving careful thought and consideration to staffing arrangements for the next school year.
We will be in a position to confirm and share class teacher allocations by the end of next week. We appreciate your patience while we finalise these important decisions.
School Uniform
We would like to inform you of a small update to our uniform, which will come into effect from September. From September, children will be required to wear white t-shirts only, rather than blue. Also, please ensure that your child wears school shoes and not trainers.
Additionally, we kindly ask that children avoid extreme hairstyles, in line with both our school policy and that of The Castle School.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a consistent and positive school environment.

Rugby
Well done to the children in Year 5 who took part in the tag rugby tournament on Monday; it was a fantastic effort from everyone who took part!
They represented the school with great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination which is something they should all feel very proud of. Their excellent sportsmanship and respect for other schools were especially commendable and they even got doughnuts at the end for their hard work! Thank you to parents for supporting their children, it was lovely to see.
National Book Tokens
Please help our school win £1000 by filling out the form: https://nationalbooktokens.com/schools-prize
These new books would look great in our new library!
Animals 2U South West
Key Stage One had a very exciting visit from Animals 2U South West last week to support their learning about animals and habitats. They had the opportunity to handle a giant chocolate millipede, some stick insects from Asia, a bearded dragon and some very cute mice!
They listened really well to the animal handlers, asking super questions and learning lots of interesting facts. It was wonderful to see those children who were a little bit unsure being brave and finding the courage to get close to the animals.
Year 5 Parental Engagement Afternoon
As an exciting introduction to our new English text, Perseus and Medusa, the children were joined by their families to create Medusa heads, swords and shields inspired by the story. It was wonderful to see so many families getting involved and working creatively together. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and the extra helping hands were greatly appreciated!
Thank you to all the families who attended and supported this event. It was fantastic to welcome you into school and share such a memorable learning experience together.
Year 6 Escot Residential
Last week, Year 6 went on a residential to Escot. They had a fabulous time and had the opportunity to experience lots of different activities and experiences they had not had the chance to before.
We noticed the children develop new friendships, independence and become more mature. The children came away having experienced new heights in the drop slide, new lows in trying to hide out of view and a very rocky and muddy swamp walk. The activity guides and adults were all very complimentary of how well-mannered, polite and respectful the children were. They were a credit to themselves and the school.
We hope they came away with lots of fond memories of the week. The adults certainly did!
