Dear Families and Members of our Community
What a truly wonderful weekend we enjoyed at our May Fayre! It was a joy to see so many families, friends and neighbours come together to celebrate what makes our school such a special place. The atmosphere was vibrant and full of laughter and it really highlighted the strength and warmth of our Bishop’s Hull community. Thanks to your generosity and support, we raised a fantastic amount of money which will go towards updating and enriching our school library, something that will benefit all of our children for years to come.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTA for their dedication, energy and hard work in organising such a memorable event. Their commitment behind the scenes is remarkable and we are so grateful for everything they do to support the school.
In school, the children have been as busy as ever, with a range of visits, activities and festivals taking place. These experiences bring learning to life and create lasting memories and it is always a pleasure to see the children so engaged, enthusiastic and proud of their achievements. It truly is a privilege to be part of our Bishop’s Hull family.
As we approach the half term break, I would like to wish you all a happy and restful time. We hope you enjoy some well deserved moments together as a family and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for what promises to be another exciting half of the term.
With very best wishes.

Celebrating Excellence Across Our School
This Half Term, we celebrated the awards below:
The English Achievement Award
This award honours outstanding progress and achievement in English. From creative writing and reading comprehension to exceptional effort in developing literacy skills, one child from each year group has been selected for their remarkable contribution. From these winners, one pupil from EYFS & KS1 and one from KS2 will proudly take home the English Trophy.
The Mathematics Achievement Award
Celebrating problem-solving, logical thinking and perseverance, this award recognises pupils who have excelled in mathematics. Whether through mastering challenging concepts, demonstrating resilience, or showing enthusiasm for numbers, one child per year group has been chosen, and one overall winner from EYFS and KS1 and one from KS2 has received the Maths Trophy.
The Values Award
Our school values: Respect, Confidence, Determination, Kindness, Enthusiasm and Curiosity are at the heart of everything we do. This award celebrates pupils who consistently embody these values in their learning and interactions. One child from each year group has been recognised and two exceptional role models have received the Values Trophy.
This term’s winners are below - the children who have been highlighted have won the trophy:

Bring a Stick to School Day
The children had a wonderful time building dens - it was fantastic to see their creativity shine as they designed and constructed their own special spaces.
Throughout the activity, the children showed great teamwork, working together to share ideas, solve problems and bring their creations to life. We were so impressed with their enthusiasm and collaboration.
Fire Engine Visit
Children in EYFS had a very exciting experience recently – a fire engine came to visit our school!
The children enjoyed seeing the fire engine up close and were able to learn about some of the equipment used by firefighters. It was lovely to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic throughout.
EYFS Sports Festival
Reception children had a fantastic time taking part in a range of activities including ball skills and balancing skills. It was wonderful to see them developing their physical skills and being active with other schools.
The day focused on fun, participation and teamwork and the children embraced this brilliantly. All children behaved perfectly and represented the school really well.
Year 4 Parental Engagement
This afternoon, our Year 4 children were delighted to welcome parents and carers into school for a practical workshop focused on times tables, in preparation for the statutory Multiplication Tables Check after half term.
Families had the opportunity to take part in four different hands-on activities, working alongside their children to explore fun and effective ways to practise and build confidence. It was wonderful to see such positive engagement, with children proudly sharing their learning and parents gaining a deeper understanding of the methods and approaches we use in school.
We greatly value these opportunities to work in partnership with our families and we are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to such a supportive and successful session.
Tempest Photography
Please note that Tempest Photography will be in school on the first Monday after half term, 1st June, to take class photographs and Year 6 leavers’ photos.
We kindly ask that all children wear their school jumpers or cardigans with logos on this day.
School Uniform
We would like to inform you of a small update to our uniform, which will come into effect from September. From September, children will be required to wear white t-shirts only, rather than blue.
Additionally, we kindly ask that children avoid extreme hairstyles, in line with both our school policy and that of The Castle School.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a consistent and positive school environment.
