A very warm welcome back to all our families as we begin an exciting new school year. I hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer break and have had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends.
It has been fantastic to see the children returning to school with such enthusiasm, energy and smiles. Over the summer, a huge amount of building and improvement work has taken place across the school. We are incredibly proud of the transformation and the site now reflects the high aspirations we have for our children, staff and wider community. The school looks brighter, smarter and more welcoming, creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
I would also like to extend a special welcome to all of our new starters in EYFS, as well as the children and families who have joined us in other year groups. Starting at a new school is a significant milestone and we are delighted to have you as part of our school community. We are equally pleased to welcome several new members of staff who will bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and expertise to our team.
As we look ahead, I am excited about the year to come. We have ambitious plans, enriching learning opportunities and many memorable experiences ahead of us. Together, by working in partnership with our families, we will continue to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and inspired to achieve their very best.

Attendance Matters
At our school, every day really does count. Regular attendance is one of the strongest factors in helping children achieve their full potential. Children who attend school consistently are more likely to make good academic progress, develop strong friendships, build confidence and feel fully connected to school life.
Learning is carefully planned so that new knowledge builds on previous lessons. When children miss school, or arrive late, they can miss vital teaching, explanations and learning opportunities, making it harder to keep up with their peers. Even a few minutes of lateness each day can quickly add up to hours of lost learning across the year.
We understand that children will occasionally be absent due to genuine illness, but we ask families to support us by making attendance and punctuality a priority wherever possible. By working together, we can ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed, thrive and enjoy all that school has to offer.

Welcome to New Staff
As we begin a new school year, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of the new members of staff who have joined our school community this term.
We are delighted to have them as part of our team and know that they will make a valuable contribution to the life of the school. Their enthusiasm, skills and experience will help us continue to provide the very best opportunities and support for all of our children.
We hope you will join us in welcoming them and helping them to feel part of our school family. We look forward to a successful and exciting year ahead together.
Meet The Teacher
This is an opportunity for parents to get useful information, see your child's new classroom again and have a look around the school! If you can, please do try and come along and have a look at all the improvements which have been made over the summer holidays. The session should take 10-15 minutes. We look forward to seeing you then.

After School Enrichment Clubs
Your child may come home with a slip this afternoon if they have expressed an interest in taking part in an after-school enrichment club taking place next Monday or Tuesday.
Slips for all other enrichment clubs will be sent home on Monday.
Please note that all enrichment clubs will begin from next Monday onwards.
Keeping Our Children Safe: Nut and Sesame Free School
A gentle reminder that we are a nut and sesame free school. We have children in school with severe allergies and even small traces of nuts or sesame can cause a serious allergic reaction.
Please check packed lunches and snacks carefully and do not send any items containing nuts or sesame. Examples include:
Peanut butter sandwiches
Nutella and other nut-based spreads
Mixed nuts
Cereal or snack bars containing nuts
Cakes, biscuits or chocolates containing nuts
Hummus containing tahini (sesame paste)
Sesame seed bagels, bread rolls or crackers
Any products containing sesame seeds or sesame oil
If a child brings food containing nuts or sesame into school, they will not be able to eat it and parents may be contacted to provide an alternative.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep all children safe and ensure that everyone can enjoy school without unnecessary risk.
Flu Vaccination
A reminder that our whole school flu vaccination programme will take place next Thursday 17th September.
A parent letter is attached for your information. If you have not already done so, please complete the decision form, even if you do not consent to the vaccination.
Mobile Phones in School
A reminder that, in line with government guidance, children should not use mobile phones whilst in school.
If your child is in Year 6 and you have provided consent via Arbor for them to bring a mobile phone to school, they must hand their phone to their class teacher at the start of the school day. Phones will be stored securely and returned to children at the end of the school day.
Rocksteady
A reminder that Rocksteady music sessions will begin next Wednesday for any children who are registered to take part.
We look forward to seeing the children enjoy their musical learning and performance opportunities.
Car Parking
A polite reminder to please park responsibly when using the school car park. To help keep everyone safe and ensure there is enough space for all users, please park within the marked parking bays at all times.
Parking considerately helps to maintain clear access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles and other parents and carers during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Thank you for your co-operation in helping to keep our school site safe for everyone.
Bishop’s Hull Annual Scarecrow Competition
You may have noticed a scarecrow at the entrance of the school over the summer holidays. Children attending our After School Club created the scarecrow at the end of the summer term to enter into the annual Bishop's Hull Scarecrow Competition.
Although we didn't win, the children had great fun designing and building their scarecrow and were very proud to see it displayed as part of the competition. We would like to thank all the children for their creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork in helping to bring the project to life!
